Matte Fiber PLA
PLA with a flat, powder-coated finish that hides layer lines beautifully — slightly abrasive from the matting filler.
Print temperatures
Nozzle 195–220 °C Bed 50–60 °C
Matte PLA is the opposite of silk: a powder-coated, paper-like surface that hides layer lines beautifully and photographs without glare.
Because the filler is mildly abrasive, matte PLA can wear brass nozzles faster than plain PLA and is a touch more brittle.
Strengths & trade-offs

- No glare for photography or props
- Prints near PLA ease
- Pleasant tactile finish

Did you know
- The matte look comes from filler particles scattering light — the same trick as matte paint.
- Heavily-filled matte PLA can be abrasive enough to warrant a hardened nozzle for high-volume use.
