Proto-Pasta is the filament brand of ProtoPlant, an engineering firm in Vancouver, Washington. Launched via a 2013 Kickstarter, it became known for pioneering composite and specialty PLA filaments such as conductive, magnetic iron, stainless-steel and carbon-fiber blends. The name combines 'Protoplant' with the pasta-like shape of filament.
